SENIOR REVIEW
Your advisor. Take along your curriculum worksheet (available from the English Dept. Office or the Office of Student Affairs) and all necessary transcripts (transcripts are available online). Office hours will be posted for every instructor on his/her office door or are available at HOURS to the left. It doesn't hurt to drop him/her a note, or email, if you have trouble reaching him/her: state your request or problem clearly and fully, add your name, address and phone number and leave a note for him/her with the department secretary in Armitage 424.

INDEPENDENT STUDY
The professor with whom you wish to work on a specific course or project.

A student must have a grade-point average in English of 3.3 or better to pursue independent study and may enroll in only one independent study course per term. The student should discuss the contemplated project with, and secure the approval of, the instructor under whom the student wishes to work. The instructor, as sponsor, then submits a proposal to the Curriculum Committee for approval. All proposals must be received by the committee before the end of the advance registration period. Students may not enroll in independent study courses during the summer. Normally the department does not permit independent study of topics which are adequately covered in regularly offered courses.
